Below you will find resources that can be used by schools wishing to set up a self-sustained Promethean Learning Community so that teachers can further their knowledge of the Promethean technology while also earning professional development points.

Beginner Course

Objectives

1. The participant will learn the skills necessary to teach interactive lessons to use on the Promethean Activboard
2. The participant use the Promethean Planet website and district resources to find, download, and use flipchart lessons in the classroom relevant to their curriculum.
3. The participant will be comfortable using the Promethean Activclassroom for whole group instruction.

Description

The learning community is designed for teachers new to the Promethean Activclassroom to become comfortable using the Promethean tools during everyday teaching and learning. The purpose of the course is for teachers to share ideas and resources to benefit instruction in the Activclassroom. Participants will develop their skills to use the Promethean hardware (Activboard, Activotes, ActivExpressions, ActivSlate, ActiView) and software (ActivStudio, ActivPrimary, ActivInspire) available in their school.  The learning community is designed for regular monthly meetings scheduled throughout the course of the school year.

Intermediate/Advanced Course

Objectives

1. The participant will learn the skills necessary to create and teach interactive lessons to use on the Promethean Activboard.
2. The participant will learn how to integrate other district resources into the Promethean Activclassroom, such as websites, other applications, and other technology resources (digital cameras, document cameras, etc.)
3. The participant will be comfortable using the Promethean Activclassroom for whole group, small group, and individualized instruction.

The learning community is designed for teachers who have been using the Promethean Activclassroom for 1+ years. The purpose of the course is for teachers to share ideas and resources to benefit instruction in the Activclassroom.  Participants will expand upon their skills in using the Promethean hardware (Activboard, Activotes, ActivExpressions, ActivSlate, ActiView) and software (ActivStudio, ActivPrimary, ActivInspire) available in their school.  The learning community is designed for regular monthly meetings scheduled throughout the course of the school year.
